Many people ask me whether they should try meditating in a group or by themselves as a beginners. My advice is bettering yourself in meditation on your own first. The reason is you can get easier disturbed by other peoples presence while meditating. When you reach certain level of going with in with ease then you should perhaps attend group meditations. Putting a light pillow or blanket underneath you lower back helps your posture with less back pain. Doing ohm mantras, breathing deep and slow, not fighting your mind can all empower your meditating practice.
